theme thursday - pets

He is quiet and small, he is black
From his ears to the tip of his tail;
He can creep through the tiniest crack
He can walk on the narrowest rail.

The yellow fog that rubs its back upon the window-panes,
The yellow smoke that rubs its muzzle on the window-panes
Licked its tongue into the corners of the evening,
Lingered upon the pools that stand in drains,
Let fall upon its back the soot that falls from chimneys,
Slipped by the terrace, made a sudden leap,
And seeing that it was a soft October night,
Curled once about the house, and fell asleep.

For every house is incomplete without him and a blessing is lacking in the spirit.

I was reading this as I scrolled down and thinking wow, she is really one hell of a writer, lol!

Nice pictures of your kitty. I love cats but we are into rabbits at the moment. Not sure they make a good mix.

"Incomplete" indeed. Without our cats, this house wouldn't be home.

Great photos.

lovely

i feel very sorry and sad for those people who choose not to share their lives with animals.

incomplete indeed!

reminds me of what mark twain once wrote:

A home without a cat -- and a well-fed, well-petted and properly revered cat -- may be a perfect home, perhaps, but how can it prove title?

we are down to three cats at our house, but after the travels of the spring and summer quiet down, hope to remedy that!

Aww all these Theme Thursday cats, I'd really love another but I'm afraid it might eat my beautiful wild parrots. Love his blonde eyebrows!

The long-haired tux is Charlie. His sister, Coco, is the short hair in silhouette in the 1st photo. They are very close 'frenemies' as you can see from the ragged edge of his ear!
They're beautiful cats and I adore them.
