theme thursday - brush

My brush with fame

Spotlight
On me
Red carpet
Beneath my high heels
Dazzling smile
Dazzling flash
Cameras
On me

I step
Into the light

Your voice
Calls
‘Your dinner’s ready!’

I step
Out of your shoes
I step
Away from the mirror
Put your lipstick back
In the drawer

‘I’m coming, Mum’

And step
Out of the light

Heh, heh! Would that be the feminine equivalent to boys playing air guitar? I guess we all have our own ways of generating spotlights. Great post, Betty!

Heh! A little tongue in cheek perhaps.
It was memories of singing into a hairbrush in front of a mirror, that prompted the post.
So, yeah, probably much closer to the air guitar than the diamonds and pearls.

Glad you like.
