the flowers look like what i call 'california poppies' but i expect these poppies grow in lots parts of the world besides california....but then again, could be califoria! pray tell.
Hi Kim, the photo was taken in Italy, on a hillside outside Volterra in Tuscany. These are 'field' or 'corn' poppies. Very common in europe. They're also sometimes known as 'flanders' poppies, because they're associated with the battlefields of WW1. I love them. One of my favourite flowers.
